Video: Chloe Moretz talks “Carrie” and designing a dress for the infamous prom scene!

As you know, Chloe Moretz recently signed on to play the title character in director Kimberly Pierce’s remake of “Carrie”. The actress, out promoting “Dark Shadows”, tells MovieHole.net that she’s going to have to take a bit of a vacation after the film because of how exhausting she imagines it’s going to be playing the telekinetic character at the center of Stephen King’s book. Moretz also speaks about the full-on audition she had to do for the movie.

As it seems, Chloe is slowly becoming a fashionista! In another interview she told that she will be designing her own dress for the infamous prom scene in “Carrie”! She also informed that she starts work June 1 in Toronto, “and right now she’s just doing a lot of really amazing pre-production.” She’s a worker bee!

“I’m actually building my own dress and kind of going really deep into it, and I’ve never gone so deep into a role before,” says Chloe, presumably talking about the prom dress Carrie wears in the film’s third act. “Yeah, it’s cool, it’s a lot of work. Fun, but a lot of work.”

“I might be making my own dress,” Moretz said. “One of my ideas for the character was to actually go and make my own dress, and I’m actually using my friend’s old drapes and making my own dress, and I’m going to sew it and everything, and I’m actually going to go out and wear it for a few weeks. I’m sure you guys are going to get some great, lovely photos of me walking down the street in some weird A-line thing, but it will be good. It will put me in there.”

“De Palma’s movie is absolutely amazing. Kim is actually really good friends with De Palma, and they’re talking about the movie and they’re good friends, so we’re taking a lot of his notes,” Moretz said. “But what we’re actually doing is we’re taking the book and we’re breaking the book down and we’re putting a lot of elements of the book into our story, so it’s more of like a ‘Black Swan’ version of it. So you really see the mythology of the character and you really see everything going on with Carrie. It’s darker.”
