I forgot to add this earlier, so I’m adding this right now :) We can find our Chloe Grace in May issue of Allure US, in Beauty Reporter. She talks make-up, being starstruck, and PajamaJeans. Check the interview below :)
When did you first wear makeup for a role?
I have been doing this stuff [acting] since I was five or six, and so I must have been little. They have always put powder on your face to even out your skin tone. So it’s always been a little bit of powder. Then they just do your hair. I guess the first time I got to wear crazy makeup or the more adult kind of eyeliner stuff would be in 30 Rock. And editorials. Not too much in movies because I always play characters that don’t care too much about their appearance.
Do you watch when you’re in the hair and makeup chair? Have you learned any tricks?
When I’m in the chair I’m usually listening to music, texting, or reading a book for school or fun. It’s funny; I’m actually going to a friend’s birthday, and I’m like, “OMG, I can do my own makeup and make it look cool.” On New Year’s, I was like, ‘Maybe I can try a few techniques that people have done on me?’ I stole my mom’s makeup palette, and I went at it. I made this cool, soft smoky nude eye and it was pretty amazing. I felt very proud of myself.
Do you wear much makeup off-screen?
I don’t wear a lot. I wear a little bit of concealer—Neutrogena Cover Stick in number 2—and I wear Chanel powder in Pêche Tendre, and I do just a little Neutrogena blush palette. I’m very minimalist. I wear a little mascara. Other than that, it’s pretty much nothing.
Do you feel like an adult?
I don’t know. I think I’m definitely not an adult. I just turned 15 on February 10. If you are mature, then you are mature; there isn’t always a need for labels.
Have you received any advice from older child stars or other people in the business?
Yeah, of course. It’s funny because everyone always asks that! People don’t walk up to you and say, ‘I’m going to give you advice now, kid.’ It just really comes from talking to someone and feeling out who they are and what they are. And how they do this and how they do that.
Have you ever been starstruck?
Yeah, definitely! I mean, working with people like Martin Scorsese and Michelle Pfeiffer. Michelle Pfeiffer, that was a major point. Batman Returns!
On Twitter, you said you hated PajamaJeans. Hate-hate or love-hate?
I’m sure if I had a pair, I would wear them all the time—inside. The best commercial on now is [for the Trendy Top]. [Impersonates announcer] ‘Stop that muffin top! Don’t worry about the panties ever showing! Here’s the tube top for your hips!’
