Chloë Grace Moretz is a hugger. She may be a big movie star with memorable roles in Kick-Ass, Carrie, Hugo, and soon The 5th Wave, but she’s a Georgia girl first and foremost. So when we meet up at Bowlmor Lanes, a dimly lit, music-filled bowling alley in New York City’s Chelsea Piers, there’s no how-do-you-do handshake. Ready or not, she goes right on in for the bear hug. “I’m from the South—that’s what we do!” she says.
Dozens of teens have descended upon the alley’s lanes and arcade area. A few people are singing “Happy Birthday” to a little boy dressed as Batman. No one seems to notice the famous actress among them dressed in a black leather jacket, high-rise skinny jeans, and a gray T-shirt with the words “kind of like this but not like this” emblazoned across
The die-hard hockey fan confesses she has a tendency to get competitive over the silliest of things—including a friendly round of bowling. After trading in her black slip-on Vans for a red, white, and blue pair of bowling shoes, she quickly takes control and starts setting up our names on the scoreboard. She types in “Coco” for herself. I go with “Striker.” (Full disclosure: I’ve only bowled a handful of times in my life and the last time was a good 12 years ago.)
Young and promising Hollywood actress Chloe Moretz has already made a name for herself in the movie making industry, despite her young age. Chloe played the role of Hit Girl in the movie Kick-Ass and she returns to the role for the Kick-Ass 2. Chloe has now opened up about coming back to play the character which she did such a great job of first time round.
Moretz was talking to the guys over at Hitfix, when she explained, “It’s been so fun being back as Hit-Girl again. Aesthetically, it’s been fun getting back in the suit and being back in the purple and the whole thing, but otherwise it’s been great getting back in the character for emotional reasons and the fact that I’m able to show an older, more dynamic… ’cause obviously I have had much more acting experience since then. So I’m able to show this more dynamic, personal character than obviously I could in the beginning.” As well as the return of Chloe Moretz, Kick-Ass 2 also sees the return of Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Kick-Ass, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist/The Mother Fucker and Lyndsy Fonseca as Katie. There are also some familiar faces joining the cast of Kick-Ass 2 including Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars and Stripes and Donald Faison as Doctor Gravity. Kick-Ass 2 opens on August 16 in both the US and the UK.
Watch the video of MTV’s “10 on Top” featuring our charming Chloe Grace who answered 7 questions. She talks her role in “Dark Shadows”, being a witch or a vampire, her own stunts, and which movie in her opinion, should win “Best Movie” Award at MTV Movie Awards. Check it out!
Asked if she’d rather be a witch or a vampire: I’d probably rather be a witch because being a vampire, I don’t think I want to be eternal. I don’t think I want to live forever. I’ll take all the idealism of a vampire and stick it in a witch, minus all the creepiness of a witch. I’ll be like a vamwich (like a sandwich).
On May 9th, Chloe was a special guest on “Last Call with Carson Daly” talk-show. I know, I know, it’s nothing new, but if you haven’t seen it yet, watch the interview below. Chloe talks obviously Dark Shadows and Hick, the video contains some new Hick clips, so it’s worth watching ;-)
